I don't fit into any political group
I would fit into a "spectrum" maybe, but I think people don't care about that stuff
And why should they? It doesn't make any money and it's not very exciting!
I unfortnately and quite ignorantly come from a tradition of radical left-wing thought. I didn't know it was sourced by something called "The Frankfurt School", and that it entailed "cultural marxism", but nonetheless, I believed that capitalism was the downfall of all and, not only capitalism, but I went down a rabbit-hole to the past and after private property as well. I also guilted domestication of animals, agriculture, and civilization itself as extremely "problematic" ( as the neoliberals would say). I still believe that civilization and society are inherently evil, and I agree with a lot of the tenets of intersectional feminism, but I also have a love for geopolitics and male - dominated history ( like the Roman Empire), because the Old Country beckons to me with its essence, and unfortunately, the novels of Joseph Conrad and W Somerset Maugham are my only links to its past...(although I've read all of Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, and have tried to read all the forgotten and neglected works of Eliza Haywood, Aphra Behn, Delariviere Manley, Amelie Opie and all the other gazillions of female European novelists and writers of centuries prior to this one I WANT IT ALL)
So, if you view politics like sports ( as I do ) and are all like "well, Trump supports this because he really wants to open a gateway with THIS other political player", and/or "this politician is doing THIS because it will open doors to China", people think you're a fascist. The neoliberal left would have you swinging the air at phantom boogeymen and making enemies out of people who are barely eking out an existence for themselves
It's weird, because they are helping to maintain the very status quo that is holding a lot of people in the grip of cultural and economic oppression, and they are uplifting the very globalization and capitalism that I thought we were all supposed to be against so many years ago
What do I mean?
Well, when you insist that freedom and liberty will rise again when a corrupt female politician becomes President of the United States, aren't you helping to maintain the status quo? Someone who helped create crises in Africa and the Middle East? When you defend a half-black President who also colluded in these crimes? When you defend the Democratic party in spite of all its most blatant and obvious crimes? When you claim that "the Clintons did nothing wrong"?
Liberal feminism would have you believe that women's oppression is the linchpin for all other oppressions, and it's not. I knew this for a long time, then was misled to believe otherwise, and today think it's important, but I'm right back where I started - if you want to play politics in the current world, which is dominated by capitalism and corporations and money and all this crap, then women having power isn't any amelioration of this; women are just taking up positions that men formerly had and they're doing the same things. Female CEO's aren't treating their employees or customers or the environment any better. Female scientists and female politicians aren't treating the environment or rebelling against corporate science in any remarkably different way from men. This doesn't mean women should go back to not having any rights, but it also means that this phenomenon of women gaining power in traditional male roles isn't exactly the golden ticket to salvation
But I WANT IT ALL
And I can demand it all
and isn't that true liberation?
Laci Green is an example of someone who didn't abscond from the Left but who decided to give right-wing voices a chance to speak in her head (she's not the only person to publicly examine "the other side". Cassie Jaye, a once supposed feminist, decided to investigate the phenomenon of "men's right activism" in her documentary "The Red Pill" and it is seriously one-sided and awful but I digress; she literally throws out the baby with the bath water)
She was making all these videos about sex and feminism and oppression, but she was also against censorship and the silencing of voices
And she wanted to know "why?"
Why do you all think like this? What does this stem from? Where do we actually disagree and do we possibly sync up on any level?
These are perfectly legitimate questions to ask, but not when you're in a cult
(Or exist in a fascist society )
She complained about "the lack of nuance" on the Left, and the pettiness, and the cliques, and the closing of ranks against anyone slightly deviant; she claims people threatened to rape her or punch her in the face when she didn't toe the line quite exactly as you're supposed to
Liberals are a pretty intolerant group, because they believe their enemy is the epitome of evil, so there are no rules to abide by when you are fighting this incredible enemy
"By any means necessary" is "the ends justify the means"
And I've never believed in that
I could have told you that the Left was inflexible ( especially the men ), having engaged with them for many years, not quite being one of them ( I mean, I espoused "conspiracy theories" about AIDS and 911, two no-no's for most leftists)
I was wondering when I would come across a Slovenian Youtuber railing about the migrant situation in Europe and basically rehashing the same talking points of the Alt-Right and Skeptic community for the past three years
And liberals have always sucked
But feminism, in its pure sense, the way I am talking about it, doesn't
Why can't I be a feminist? In favor of all women's ability to navigate the world independently, to live for themselves, to have the jobs and life experiences that they want, and STILL be against illegal immigration and migrants flooding my beloved Europe, homeland of my parents?
Also, I'm not a nationalist, but why do you have to be a "tradthot" because you care about your country? And why is it fascistic to point out that if you let lots of people from other countries flood your country, you might possibly lose your country ( like what happened in Kosovo and Palestine), and something empires and invading armies have done for hundreds of years to justify taking someone else's land
It just IS
Or how dare I be critical of the wars the US and Israel have wrought upon the regions of the Middle East and beyond that have induced the hordes to flood tiny European countries at the behest of big ones like Germany?
I'm sure many of these people don't want to leave their homes. Most people, I think I may correctly state, want to stay where they are from
They want to speak their own language, they want to eat their own food, they want to remain with their loved ones
Most people don't seek the stress of world travel and adventure. Most people are content to sit at home and stare up at the stars, on the green green grass of home
The governments of the world should be trying to stem this tide of migration, nipping the causes in the bud, instead of encouraging it
And because neither the left nor the right correctly address this, you know they are both phony
Why can't I be for more women in positions of power but I can't criticize candidates for these positions who are just as bad as the men?
Why can't I vote for Trump because I want to shake up the status quo, and how dare I not believe the media that we all along said couldn't be trusted when it tries to demonize this individual you can suddenly trust it ?(like they do everyone the "Deep State" wants to get rid of? )
Why can't I admire some of the things Putin has done to rebuild his country and stand up to the US, which anyone politically honest would decree as the world's biggest bully?
Just because you agree with Tesla and believe that electromagnetism is responsible for what gravity gets credit for, doesn't mean you think the Earth is flat??!?!
It's all or none, a zero sum game in this lead up to some big war, or some super civil unrest. Because if you stop and listen you just can't get mad enough
Nina Constanina has lived in her car for the past three years and cannot imagine coming back to civilization anytime soon
